A pleasant view

I think this is the nicest place in Whitby. It on the hill is right over the town, and has a full view of the harbour. You can see right up the bay to where the hill called Kettleness stretches out into the sea. This hill is so steep that part of one side has fallen away, and some of the graves have been destroyed.

In one place the stone on the graves hangs out over the hill, above the sandy pathway far below. In the churchyard there are paths to walk on, with seats beside them. People go there and sit there all day looking at the beautiful view and enjoying the breeze. I myself shall often come, and sit here and work. Indeed, I am writing now, with my book on my knee.
