Sherlock Holmes Investigates

 

"Because you and your sister locked your doors at night, no-one could get into your rooms from the corridor. Now, please go into your room and close the window"

Miss Stoner closed the window in her room. Then Holmes tried everything he could think of to open the window, but he couldn't. He even tried to open the wondow with a knife. He looked at the windows with a magnifying glass, but they were built right into the big stones of the wall. "Hum!" said Holmes, "I do not understand. No one can get in through these windows if they are closed. Well, we shall see what we can find if we go inside."
