Introductions.


Here are some situations in which you meet people. Look at each situation, and at the three possible answers below it. Sometimes one of these answers is correct, sometimes two answers are correct. If you click a correct answer, it turns green. If you click a wrong answer, it turns red. There are eight correct answers. How many can you find before you click a wrong answer?

You meet someone you know. He says - "How are you, George?"
Fine, and you? I'm pleased to meet you. Good day for you.

 

You meet your boss at the cinema. He says - "How are you, George?"
Oh, it's you. Hi. Hi Joe. Having fun? Good evening, Mr Smith

 

You meet someone at a party. He says - "Are you George?"
Yes. Who are you? That's right. Hello. Yes, pleased to meet you.

 

You meet someone on business. She says - "How do you do?"
I'm doing well, thanks. How do you do? Fine, and you?

 

In a restaurant, the waiter says - "I'm Joe, do you want to order?"
Hi Joe. Not yet, thanks. I'm pleased to meet you. In a moment, thanks.

 

You meet someone new at work. She says - "Hello. I'm Mary Kellan."
Hello, I'm Jill Mason. I'm pleased. I'm Jill Mason. I am Ms Mason. How do you do?

 

A policeman stops your car. He says - " I'm PC Jones. May I see your licence?"
Yes, of course. Hello, I'm Jill Mason. Here you are.

 

You go to see your bank manager. He says - "Good afternoon, Miss Smith."
Hello, I'm Jill Smith. How are you, Mr Bingley? Good afternoon, Mr Bingley.
