A. Computer programmer, Cambridgeshire. The successful applicant will have a good knowledge of most of the major computing languages, but particularly of C++ and Java. Two years of work experience and a university degree in mathematics are also required. The position is offered at one of the region's top technology firms. We will give further training as required, and the position comes complete with full pension rights, and membership of the company's medical assistance plan.

B. Group leader, Sunshine tours. We are looking for a group leader to take parties of tourists to Italy for three-week holidays. The successful applicant will be a bright, cheerful personality with a talent for coping with the unexpected. A good knowledge of Italian is essential, and knowledge of tourist sites in Italy is an advantage but not essential. The successful applicant must be prepared to be abroad for three weeks in every six. We provide full insurance, and you get a bonus for travelling with groups of more than 10 people.

C. Motor Scooter mechanic. If you like repairing engines, there is a post waiting for you at Hake's Motorbike services. We need someone to specialise in repairing the popular Honda Sky model. Full training will be given. All we want from you is an ability to work reliably, and a readiness to get your hands dirty. You will have to work Saturdays, but you will get a bonus for this. D. Journalist/feature writer. Join the hip street-wise crew at Post-hoc publications. You will have the job of writing reviews and features about life in one of Britain's most exciting market towns. If you can write lively, exciting prose, then send us some of your work. It can be a review of a restaurant or a play, or maybe a feature article on something that interests you. You will need to be able to use a word processor, and be familiar with information technology. You must be prepared to work irregular hours. A sense of humour is essential.

E. Haematologist. Brooklands Community hospital requires a trained Haematologist with BIST/AQ qualification to work on a project categorizing blood groups for the RA autoimmunity project. Experience with ELISA and cryonics is essential. We pay a top EA level salary for this contract, which is expected to last for five years.
