A Business Letter

Dear Sirs,

Please receive this invoice for goods sent by the Great Northern Railway. The goods leave by train at 9:30 tonight, and will be at King's Cross Railway Station at 4:30 tomorrow afternoon. These are to be delivered to Carfax, near Purfleet, as soon as you get them from the Goods Station at King's Cross. The house is empty at present, but please find the keys (all of which are labelled) with this letter.

There are fifty boxes. Please put these in the partially ruined part of the house marked 'A' on the rough map also enclosed. You will easily recognize where this is because it is the ancient chapel of the house. Our client wishes the delivery to be made as soon as possible. Therefore please have teams of horses ready to carry the goods from King's Cross as soon as they arrive. In order to prevent any delays in payment, we enclose a cheque for ten pounds. Please let us know that you have received this. If the work costs less than this amount, you can return the balance, if it costs more, we shall immediately send a cheque for the difference.

When you go, you are to leave the keys in the main hall of the house. The proprietor will take them when he enters the house with his own key. Please do not think we are impolite in asking you to work as fast as you possibly can.

Yours Faithfully
Samuel F. Billington & Son
