About PETTest

Introduction.

Candidates who want to do the PET (Preliminary English Test) exam need to understand the sort of English you find in everyday situations. They should understand texts such as street signs, public notices, posters, and tourist guides, as well as business letters, messages from friends and things in newspapers.

They should understand announcements made at places like railway stations and airports, information on the radio, public announcements and instructions given by people like the police.

Candidates need to understand the facts, but also to understand the opinions and emotions of the people they are talking to.
