Lesson 4:   E-mail - part 1   |  part 2

Here you can try sending an email to yourself. Fill in all the parts of the email according to the instructions and press 'send'. Then you will see how this email looks to the person who receives it.

Email practice

When you finish writing your email click the 'send' button

     To:

In the space next to 'TO' put the address of the person you want to send your email to e.g. 'FredBloggs@homecomputer.com'

     Cc:

In CC (Carbon copy) put the addresses of other people you want the message sent to. For example if you are emailing Fred about a football game, you might want to send the same message to other members of his team.

   Subject:

Subject. Put this in so Fred knows what the message is about. Don't just put 'Hi' or 'Look at this' because Fred might think your message is spam. If you say 'Football game Tuesday' (For example) Fred will know this is a real message.

In the message space you can put your message. Some emails are hundreds of words long - most are much shorter, and some are less than a dozen words.
