Present Continuous

What is this person doing? Look at the sentences, and decide. Sometimes you will have to say what the person is doing by writing it in a box. You will see the verb, but YOU will have to make it into the Present Continuous.

 

David is a computer programmer.

Is David programming? Yes, he is. No, he is not.

What is he doing? He     in front of the computer.   (sleep) He is sleeping in front of the computer.

Jane is a window cleaner.

Is Jane cleaning a window? Yes, she is. No, she is not.

Jane is cleaning a window.

Frank is a pilot

Is Frank flying a plane? Yes, he is. No, he is not.

Frank is flying a plane.

Jane is a window cleaner.

Is Jane cleaning a window? Yes, she is. No, she is not.

What is she doing? She     a scooter.   (ride) Jane is riding a scooter.

David is a computer programmer.

Is he programming a computer? Yes, he is. No, he is not.

David is programming a computer.

Mrs White is a baker.

Is Mrs White baking? Yes, she is. No, she is not.

What is she doing? She     on the lake.   (relax) Mrs White is relaxing on the lake.

Frank is a pilot

Is Frank flying a plane? Yes, he is. No, he is not.

What is he doing? He     television.   (watch) Frank is watching television.

Mrs White is a baker.

Is Mrs White baking? Yes, she is. No, she is not.

Mrs White is baking a cake.
