correct sentence?

Dear Prof,
is the following sentence correct :

The only thing I like to spend (or spending) money on that has remained the same as when I was young is hollidays.

Ik wil zeggen : het enige dat hetzelfde is gebleven waar ik geld aan uitgaf toen ik jong was en waar ik nu geld aan uitgeef is op reis gaan.

Well, if you are using 'reis' in the Dutch, you should use 'going on holiday' in English, rather than just 'holiday', because 'reis' has more of a sense of travelling.

With the use of a gerund or an infinitive after like, the meaning is the same with your example, but sometimes there is a subtle difference.

For example, I may listen to opera for pleasure, and go to music festivals, so I like singing. But if my voice is unpleasant and I don't enjoy doing it personally, than I might like singing, but I don't like to sing.
