This is a specially adapted version of The Canterville Ghost for intermediate students. Some of the more complicated grammar and vocabulary has been changed. Also the author, Oscar Wilde, has used some words that are very old fashioned, and we have changed these too. Try to understand the vocabulary without looking at the definitions. If you can't, the underlined words have definitions after the reading. If you still find the text difficult, try reading it first at the elementary level (level 1), or if it is too easy, try the advanced level (level 3).
