A good diet
Paul asks his friend Jane for advice on his diet.
Paul: Jane, you know a lot about food. My wife thinks I should lose some weight. Can you give me some advice?
Jane: Well, I can try. What do you eat during a normal day? Paul: Let me see... . I don't eat very much for breakfast, just cereal, a couple of fried eggs, one sausage and some toast. Jane: How many slices of toast do you eat? Paul: Oh not too many, just two or three. Jane: And then you eat nothing till lunch? Paul: Oh no, I always have danish pastry with my morning coffee at work. I love danish pastry. Jane: Ok, so you have one danish pastry. Paul: Well one or two, but they are not fattening, are they? Jane: They actually are. You should definitely cut them out of your diet. Paul: No I can't. I tried that before. Without a danish pastry my coffee break would not be the same. Jane: Ok. What about your lunch? Paul: Well you know our staff lunches are a tradition. We always go to the pub and have a large steak - or fish and chips. Jane: And let me guess... you have a big dinner? Paul: Just a three course meal. But I can't see how I could do without that. Jane: Well, I am not sure what to suggest to you then. Paul: I knew it. I told Christine that my diet was very reasonable. I'm glad you agree with me. |
