Agreeing and disagreeing


Read what Lord Prattworth says, and pick the best answer for his butler. Remember to disagree politely and try not to sound sarcastic! Also the butler can't tell Lord Prattworth directly that he is right or wrong.

1. Football is rather boring..
a. I can see why you would think that, Sir
b. Whatever you say, m'Lord
c. Boring? Really? Why is that, Sir?

2. Turn left here.
a. It's a dead end, Sir.
b. That's not possible, m'Lord
c. Down this dead end street, Sir?

3. I will wear my red jacket tonight.
a. A very daring choice, Sir.
b. You will look rather silly, Sir.
c. Would Sir not prefer the black jacket?

4. Well, I'm not coming.
a. Lady Arabella said you have to, Sir
b. I was told to tell you to come at once Sir.
c. What should I tell Lady Arabella, Sir?

5. Bring the dog indoors, would you?
a. This carpet is very expensive, Sir
b. That dog, on this carpet? Really?
c. Shall I move the carpet first Sir?

6. I'm going to sell the Rolls-Royce.
a. But is was your father's car, Sir.
b. You can't sell something priceless, m'Lord.
c. Is that instead of selling the Mercedes, Sir?

7. That cannot be true!
a. It is unbelieveable, isn't it?
b. I am afraid that it is, Sir.
c. Well, don't believe it if you don't want to.

8. I know I'm right, so stop arguing
a. I am sure you think so, Sir ...
b. Well, if you are really, totally, completely sure ...
c. Well, let's see what happens then, Sir ...
